Summary:

Particle is hiring a Director of Product Marketing to drive market research to inform our product strategy, lead go-to-market for both our existing and new products, and create and execute campaigns to drive adoption and engagement with our product portfolio. You would be joining the Product team to establish our nascent Product Marketing practice within that team, and collaborating closely with our Demand Generation team that drives performance marketing based on the go-to-market strategy and positioning that you establish. You will:

  • Lead go-to-market strategies for product launches, new releases and product adoption, including key messaging development and tactical channel plans, ensuring that all customer-facing teams are on-message and maximizing each channel
  • Lead go-to-market strategies for product launches, new releases and product adoption, including key messaging development and tactical channel plans, ensuring that all customer-facing teams are on-message and maximizing each channel
  • Develop and track key business metrics for Particle products; own the reporting and analysis for those metrics. 
  • Develop and author compelling internal content for Demand Generation and Sales including sales training on products, positioning, competitive analysis, and battle cards
  • Develop and manage the creation of compelling external product content to drive adoption and customer success including customer case studies, website content, blogs, webinars, solution guides, demos, and FAQs supported by our SA and content team
  • Own external facing product roadmap updates, in close relationship with the product team, and support the ongoing engagement with our customer advisory board
  • Continue to refine and evolve our buyer and user personas which inform the positioning, messaging, and value proposition of our platform and upcoming features. 
  • Build and continually assess competitive offerings to ensure product differentiation and competitiveness to inform messaging and product roadmap
  • Aggregate, analyze, and develop a deep understanding of customer requirements through user research findings, analyst inquiries, and customer feedback to steer messaging and product roadmap.

Own the full extent of Product Marketing at Particle, and your focus will break out as:

  • 60% go-to-market strategy, execution, messaging, supporting content and sales enablement development
  • 30% research, competitive analysis, industry scope, product roadmap input
  • 10% product adoption, nurture, and recommendations on key marketing channels

Your success will be measured on customer impact, product adoption, and ultimately defining Particle as the top leader in the IoT space for and companies bringing connected IoT products to market. This role reports to the Head of Product.

You have:

  • Over 5-7 years of experience in a marketing role with 3-5 years in a product-specific marketing role with a technical product
  • Experience as the primary owner of product launches at scale across multiple channels and geographies
  • The ability to distill complex technical concepts into customer-centric messaging and while staying genuine for developer audiences
  • Experience with dual audiences of developers and business buyers of technical products
  • The ability to thrive in a fast growing startup where hands on execution is required and processes may not exist yet (until you implement them)
  • Excellent at collaborating with many contributors, with strong project management skills
  • Confidence in presenting and training for both internal and external audiences
  • Experience working cross-functionally with sales, product management, marketing, and PR
  • Experience building and managing a team, developing talent and establishing growth paths
  • Previous in IoT is a plus
