5G eSIM Service Connects Mobile Users to the World

eSIM.net Group Ltd, a UK based startup MVNO, has announced that its flagship Pay As You Go (PAYG) eSIM service is now 5G-enabled in fourteen countries around the world, including four major countries in Europe. The service connects users to the world’s fastest mobile network in Germany, Finland, Switzerland, and Austria, while continuing to offer cheap eSIM services across the 4G and 3G networks elsewhere on the continent and the rest of the world.
eSIM.net's PAYG plan was launched in March 2020 and was the first to offer an eSIM service powered with full voice, SMS and data services on a Pay As You Go basis. It provides users with fixed mobile rates across Europe and can be activated from anywhere at any time. The 5G eSIM service is purchased online with an initial credit of $10 and topped up by purchasing additional credit through the eSIM.net website or app on Apple and Google Play stores.
The introduction of the 5G enabled PAYG eSIM from eSIM.net offers users even more coverage and better connectivity than before by offering access to newly deployed 5G networks in Germany, Switzerland, Finland, and Austria – four countries that are leading the way for 5G in Europe.
The rollout of 5G in Germany has unfolded at breakneck speed with Vodafone Germany and Deutsche Telekom establishing themselves as the most prolific 5G providers. The announcement of a partnership between Deutsche Telekom and Ericsson in July will see a massive strengthening of 5G infrastructure in Germany that will offer even greater connectivity for 5G eSIM users.
“This 5G deal is a testament to the exceptional long-term partnership we have forged with Deutsche Telekom, both here in Germany and around Europe. With our global experience and leading technology, we’ll deploy a world-class 5G network in Germany,” Arun Bansal, President of Europe and Latin America regions at Ericsson said in the press release announcing the partnership.
Finland was among the first countries in the world to introduce 5G technology. Together with telecommunications and electronics company, Nokia, the 5G network has been successfully deployed in 30 cities and municipalities across Finland and is gaining momentum.
In Switzerland, Swisscom has rolled out 5G in all the main cities and towns, including ZĂĽrich, Bern, Geneva, Lausanne, and Lucerne. There are over 2000 5G antenna currently deployed in Switzerland.
Austria has pledged to become a pioneer of 5G connectivity in Europe and has already invested millions of Euros in developing network infrastructure to achieve this goal.
eSIM.net has agreements with the major cellular providers in these countries which allows them to offer their PAYG eSIM with enhanced capabilities such as access to 5G networks.
As governments and telecommunications companies continue to invest billions in developing 5G networks and more cellular providers enable 5G and eSIM services, the 5G eSIM will continue to expand to more countries and increase its coverage across Europe and beyond.
According to Mikaël Schachne, Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Mobility and IoT at BICS, “Mobile operators see the revenue opportunities and are preparing for 5G roaming on a massive scale. This will connect not only machines and the IoT, but also business and leisure travellers with all the rich experiences of the 5G world.”
eSIM.net’s PAYG eSIM plan is delivered in the form of a QR code and only works with eSIM-enabled handsets. While the PAYG plan will work throughout all European countries (excluding Italy), 5G access is only available when purchasing an eSIM for Germanty, Finland, Switzerland, or Austria on 5G-supported devices that also support eSIM.
More information on 5G eSIM can be found on eSIM.net's website.
