Chipkin Announces an Update to the CAS BACnet Stack - Enhanced Support for Trend Log BIBBs

Vancouver, Canada - July 1st, 2020 – The newest version of CAS BACnet Stack is now available from Chipkin Automation Systems Inc. with enhanced features. Chipkin has added support for the following BACnet BIBBs:

● T-VMT-I-B - Viewing and Modifying Trends-Internal-B ● T-VMMV-I-B - Viewing/Modifying Multiple Values-Internal-B

The CAS BACnet Stack supports both Trend log and Trend log multiple, and the ReadRange client service. Trend logs object allows a BACnet server device to create a historical trend log of one or more internal properties. These trend logs then can be retrieved by a downstream BACnet client.

Real-World Example: A water level detector is installed in a mine that reports the amount of water that is at the bottom of a shaft. The water level is reported as an object of the BACnet device. A BACnet client could read this object periodically to determine if the values are higher than a threshold, then turn on a pump. The water levels could fluctuate between scan intervalues of the BACnet client, and the BACnet client could miss some important value. A trend log object can keep a record of the water level as a historical trend on the BACnet device. Then, the BACnet client could read this historical trend to see if they missed any important information.
