Before August 2022, it would take much effort to understand WebRTC stream behavior with a dozen of tools and applications. QAs wasted lots of time tangled up in WebRTC-Internals’ graphs and stats.
With StreamTest it only takes half a second to get a comprehensive live status on 7 essential parameters:Â
The indicators change colors depending on how fine or poor they are. Red for poor, Yellow for satisfactory, Green for fine states.Â
The extension continually collects data about the characteristics listed all the time it’s activated. To turn StreamTest on, a user just clicks on a video container with the right mouse button, and taps “Test Stream” in the context menu.
Other than that, StreamTest provides a downloadable .csv report with even more characteristics and metrics for tech specialists to better understand the stream performance.Â
For now StreamTest is only adapted for tech specialists use, but Fora Soft plans on making it more comprehensible and user friendly for users with no technical background.
