BPCL stands for Bharat petroleum corporation. BPCL was established in 1952 and is the leading company and is well known for the petroleum sectors in India. It is under the ownership of the Ministery of petroleum and Natural gas sector of India. BPCL handles petroleum-related products and also works with the sectors of exploration, production and retailing of petroleum. 

 

The retailing of petroleum includes petroleum such as petrol, diesel, and kerosene. There are two big refineries in Mumbai and Kochi that can handle 12 million metric tons and 7.5 million metric tons per annum for refining the crude oil. 

 

BPCL has won many awards for being excellent water effective unit in 2007 and was awarded the title of excellence in water management, smart workplace award in 2008, and pollution control excellence among industries in Kerala in 2011. Excellence in calibre management in the manufacturing industry for balancing value for key stakeholders and loyalty with customers, and many more awards have been rewarded to BPCL. 

 

BPCL is on the list of top 10 MOU signing public sectors and has received the award from MOU for excellence in performance from the Vice President at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.

 

The BPCL has received the award for excellence in business performance in cargo handling at Kochi. The team was led by M Shankar, who is a Chief General Manager. Twenty million ton cargo was handled by BPCL at Kochi port and is 58% of the total ratio cargo handled. 

 

The team consists of great personalities such as SK Shukla, the general manager of the oil movement and storage sector, and Philly Cherian, the deputy general manager of the oil movement and Marine operations sector. The whole team was awarded by M Beena IAS and the chairperson of the Kochi port. 

 

They hold the export from 2021 to 2022 of 512.8 TMT, Reformate, and MS. Some of the exports, such as 311 TMT, were bound for 2023. MS demand is expected to have a growth of 3 per cent in 2022.

 

They said in the award conference that they would expand the work with the existing pipeline network, and there is a plant to extend the 20-inch white oil line, which is separated from the North tankar birth to the Kochi oil terminal. 

 

The leaders say that market has risen from the Covid scenario, and the petroleum refinery sector is enhancing with level. The excellence award is awarded to any organisation using the scorecard based on their performance in some industries and then judged from the performance output from which one organisation is chosen for their best in the work field. 

 

Petroleum Congress recognise outstanding projects and innovations in the oil and gas sector with the excellence awards. The award is meant to distinguish public or private organisations with their performance and work. 

 

Conclusion :

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited has received the award for Excellence in Bussiness Performance in Cargo handling at the Kochi location in the financial year.
