Ghent, Belgium – December 16, 2025 — Pozyx, a leading provider of real-time location systems (RTLS) based on ultra-wideband (UWB) and BLE technology, has released a major update to its enterprise-grade positioning system. The RTLS v2025.2 update introduces two key capabilities that significantly improve the system’s scalability and deployment flexibility across large and complex industrial environments.
The first major addition to the Pozyx RTLS is the introduction of three distinct positioning levels:
This new functionality allows customers to design deployments that match the required accuracy per area, reducing infrastructure where ultra-precise tracking is not needed. As a result, RTLS coverage can be expanded more cost-effectively without sacrificing visibility.
“With the introduction of three levels of positioning accuracy, we’re giving customers the ability to design smarter RTLS deployments. You no longer need to choose between precision and coverage. Now you can have both, based on the needs of each area.” Samuel Van de Velde, Founder & CTO of Pozyx
Unlike traditional BLE tracking, which typically requires a high density of receivers to achieve meter-level accuracy, the approximate UWB positioning in Pozyx RTLS v2025.2 delivers superior accuracy with fewer anchors. With anchor spacing that is still much sparser than what BLE systems demand, the system can consistently provide location updates within a ~5 meter range. This makes approximate UWB a compelling alternative for use cases where BLE would struggle to deliver the same balance of coverage, precision, and infrastructure efficiency.
The second key feature in the release is a native omlox hub connector, allowing seamless integration with any omlox-compliant system. This enables a single Pozyx RTLS deployment to span across multiple zones, buildings, and floors, while remaining fully interoperable with the broader omlox ecosystem. It simplifies system architecture and opens the door to more standardized, vendor-neutral RTLS solutions.
Beyond the major positioning and integration upgrades, RTLS v2025.2 includes several improvements that enhance overall system reliability in real-world deployments. The handling of static tags has been refined to deliver more consistent positioning for non-moving assets, even in environments affected by vibration, metal interference, or limited signal coverage. These updates improve positioning stability for assets such as pallets, containers, or tools that may remain stationary for long periods but still require accurate location data.
The release also brings tighter integration with the Pozyx Platform, making configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting more seamless for system administrators. Additionally, several security improvements have been implemented to support secure enterprise deployments, along with performance and stability optimizations that contribute to a smoother and more scalable RTLS experience across diverse industrial environments.
The update is now available to all Pozyx customers and partners.
