Product Release: danalto Announces Launch of Positioning Intelligence Service with LoRa® 2.4 GHz

Dublin, Ireland, 14th of June, 2021 – danalto, a Dublin-based IoT platform provider, today announced the official launch of their fine-long range positioning intelligence service using LoRa^® 2.4 GHz. Coined “FiLo™”, this is the first iteration of IoT Positioning capability from danalto’s Cardinal™ IoT Platform.

LoRa^® 2.4 GHz is one of the radio frequencies from Semtech’s groundbreaking long range, low power LoRa^® wireless portfolio. This frequency enables ultra-long range communication through the 2.4GHz band, with the most reliable connectivity and lowest power requirements. Utilizing this technology, danalto has been able to achieve highly accurate location services over large distances with less power and infrastructure, and at a lower cost, than traditional technologies such as GNSS, BLE, or Wi-Fi^®.

danalto’s Cardinal™ FiLo™ service using LoRa^® 2.4 GHz is a full-stack IoT solution, best suited for wide open outdoor spaces such as open-pit mining sites or industrial storage yards. danalto can achieve accuracies of 5-10m over 5+km areas with the deployment of minimal on-site infrastructure and the use of ultra-low power tags which can last for 5+ years. This is a stark contrast to both power-hungry GNSS solutions and the dense infrastructures that are needed for Wi-Fi^® and BLE tracking. Through the Cardinal™ Platform, all tracked assets can be managed via customizable dashboards, providing business insights and optimization.

In addition to the LoRa^® 2.4 GHz positioning intelligence service, danalto also offers asset management services. This product line is set to expand later this year with the roll-out of danalto’s next offering: ultra-wideband (UWB) tracking.
