ERGOSENSE launches AIRLAB - indoor IoT air contamination and virus risk detection for business environments and public spaces.

IoT For All

Ergosense, a company that develops smart data solutions that can influence employee productivity and can help optimise workspace environments, today announced the global availability of AIRLAB – a non-intrusive, easy-to-install air quality monitoring system. AIRLAB enables the accurate monitoring of C02, pollutants, temperature, humidity and even presence of particles at virus size levels within indoor environments. The AIRLAB is ideally suited not only for the business workplace environments, but also retail and hospitality spaces, and public spaces such as schools, universities, hospitals and public transport.

Ergosense’s AIRLAB sensor accuracy is uniquely placed to detect five significant factors associated with the ideal conditions where virus thrives: Particulate Matter (PM), C02, TVOC, Temperature and Humidity. The sensor is also able to detect indoor Sound levels (dB).

As a true plug-and-connect solution, AIRLAB contributes to an organization’s planning and monitoring to maintain and promote a healthy environment where groups of individuals come together. Multiple Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) data points are collected in real-time and presented to the organization through a graphical interface.

To ensure global connectivity, Ergosense AIRLAB uses u-blox’s Thingstream’s IoT Communication-as-a-Service solution which guarantees Low Power GSM coverage in over 190 countries worldwide. As part of the already existing strategic partnership with Ergosense, TechData will distribute the AIRLAB via all their partners in EMEA markets.

Leon Roodt, CEO, Ergosense, commented; “By integrating Particulate Matter monitoring into our comprehensive IAQ solution, we are giving those who manage indoor spaces the ability to predict and identify hazardous situations. As we look to ways of providing safer working environments, our sensor data can provide a key insight to make informed decisions.”

Fernando Martin, who heads up TechData’s Smart Spaces and IoT initiative for the EMEA region, said; “Never more than today is it important to have technology to help companies create and understand occupant experience in their facilities. Having devices such as AIRLAB facilitates the obtaining of accurate values on the environmental quality of the work environment. Additionally, having connectivity such as that provided by u-blox allows companies to maintain a secure network environment and not have to bother with the maintenance of the devices themselves. It is undoubtedly one of the most complete solutions, which also solves one of the most important problems for human resources and facility managers.”

About Ergosense
