DBMS Simplifies IoT Connectivity

IoT For All

June 5, 2019 Seattle: Unlike any other product, eXtremeDB’s IoT SDK solution with Active Replication Fabric has the capability to replicate data from the edge to the server, including through many tiers (edge/gateway/server). It will intelligently queue data during intended or unintended network outages for later synchronization, offers encryption of data at rest and in flight, and provides support for time series data. This differs markedly from all other database solutions on the market.

With a modest code size of as little as 300K, McObject’s system runs on the resource-constrained devices and gateways, yet can scale up to the server with a distributed database (sharding) architecture managing 100s of terabytes. The eXtremeDB IoT SDK is a bundled setup streamlining the entire development platform. Device and server communicate flawlessly, data is protected at rest and in transit, and the need to piece together individual components of the platform is eliminated allowing development teams to leverage a common skillset.

Chris Mureen, COO of McObject, commented on the news: “Active Replication Fabric represents significant simplification for dealing with replication by handling intermittent connections transparently within the database system’s replication framework. It enables data exchange between collection points and servers for distributed IoT applications, both on-demand and automatically. The function has the potential to vastly improve applications’ effective functioning and the SDK eliminates unnecessary overhead by bundling device, gateway and server database systems.”
