LOS ANGELES, June 3, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Nesten, Inc. has successfully launched its IoT-optimized wireless networks with scalable multi-tiered blockchains in seven metropolitan areas in the U.S. and overseas. This launch is the first step toward a telecommunications infrastructure supported by the collective efforts of network participants rather than one centralized provider.
The initial network deployment was fueled by individual participants who own Nesten’s advanced wireless nodes. Nesten’s wireless node, G1, is a high-performance computing platform consisting of the latest quad-core ARM processor, DDR4 memory, and solid-state storage, and integrates multiple wireless protocols of dual-band 802.11ac, Bluetooth, and LoRa. The Nesten multi-tiered blockchain architecture leverages two consensus algorithms, Proof of Stake (PoS) and Proof of Work (PoW), coupled with Performance Metrics (PMs) for wireless coverage and network reliability. The PoS is advantageous with respect to speed and scalability, and the PoW ensures that the blockchain operation is secure and private.
In the Nesten ecosystem, the G1 node operators can earn income by utilizing excess Internet bandwidth to provide the backhaul network connectivity. The ecosystem motivates G1 operators to maintain a reliable network bandwidth and improve coverage by strategically placing the G1 in high-demand locations. “We believe the IoT industry requires an entirely new financial ecosystem to lend itself to a wide range of Applications. The system needs to be able to operate autonomously in a highly secure manner and support micro-level transactions with minimal overhead” said Andrew Baek, CTO of Nesten.
Troicom, Inc. manufactures and supplies the G1, and its G1 development is the culmination of the Troicom team’s deep expertise in communications systems. The various wireless technologies used in the platform have been in development for more than five years, and they were instrumental to the successful deployment of the 200 initial G1s operating across multiple geographic areas.
The initial deployment includes significant coverage footprints in Dallas and Houston, as well as additional nodes in New York, New Jersey, Washington DC suburbs, California, and Seoul, Korea. Additional G1 nodes are expected to go live throughout the year.
