Chipkin Is Proud to Announce Its Launch of a Much-Anticipated Vaisala Weather Transmitter Quickserver, to Integrate Vaisala Weather Data into Any BMS

IoT For All

Vancouver, BC, Canada – November 11th, 2019 – Chipkin has completed a driver which communicates with Vaisala Weather Transmitters using the Vaisala ASCII protocol. The driver can read data from the trunk of 1 or more transmitters. Coupled with the Chipkin Weather Data Server – which serves weather forecasting data – you get even more opportunities to tune your
system to minimize wasting resources and maximize efficiency. Chipkin has also completed drivers to popular irrigation systems like Hunter. Now, you are in control.

The Vaisala Weather ASCII Serial driver is an active client driver in that it polls for data –reading or writing data from meters. It cannot be used to simulate a Vaisala transmitter because only the client side of the protocol is implemented. If you have Vaisala Weather sensors or transmitters and you would like to use it on a network that uses BACnet, Modbus, DNP 3.0, LonWorks etc. we encourage you to use one of our QuickServer Gateways. The Vaisala Weather ASCII QuickServer (QS) is a high-performance, fully configurable, and cost-effective protocol gateway for integrating many Vaisala weather sensors and transmitters.
