Sabertek, a complete turnkey solution provider for the electronic industry, announced the launch of its Micro Genie, a ready-to-go, fully-customizable, globally-connected IoT device, which helps bring IoT solutions to market efficiently.
Typically an industrial IoT project is developed from scratch, with individual components designed and specified from the ground up for the specific use case. Sabertek’s Micro Genie can utilize its GPS, Bluetooth (BLE), accelerometer, inputs, outputs, and LTE connectivity for event-based applications. With Micro Genie, 80% of the solution has been pre-developed, leaving the product engineer to specify which sensors are required and how the events and triggers should be set up. Micro Genie is pre-configured to provide a bi-directional upstream and downstream data flow. It is connected via the LTE network (with 2G fallback) to provide global connectivity in over 190 countries.
Micro Genie supports endless use cases including remote equipment monitoring, HVAC solutions, access control, humidity, and temperature monitoring, emergency action notifications, track and trace, water and agriculture applications, movement detection, and security applications.
Critical to Sabertek’s Micro Genie’s versatile appeal is its ability to connect globally instantly; there’s no need to negotiate multi-country data plans. Global data connectivity is taken care of straight out of the box. Data connectivity is provided by Sabertek’s communications partner, u-blox Thingstream.
