San Francisco, CA — January 28, 2018 — UrsaLeo, an IoT Platform as a Service technology company that connects OEMs with the cloud, today announced the availability of the company’s IoT and Cloud platform beta release. As a Google Cloud partner, the company has configured cloud-enabled hardware that collects data and delivers dashboards, sensor diagnostics, and data storage management. The company also announced the closing of a $500K seed round, which is being used to further develop the IoT and Cloud platform. UrsaLeo is currently working on raising a second seed round.
“After 18 months of product development, our team is proud to announce the beta release of UrsaLeo’s innovative technology and the closing of our first seed round,” said John Burton, CEO of UrsaLeo. “This product is well positioned to transform the way OEMs and beyond are collecting, analyzing, and harnessing data for ongoing decision making and informed business intelligence.”
B2B customers can start using the platform by purchasing a development kit from an UrsaLeo online distributor, Mouser or RS Components. Both companies are currently carrying inventory with kits based on popular embedded processors including the NXP i.MX 6UltraLite (with Murata WiFi/BLE) and the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ single board computer. All kits come with a Silicon Labs ThunderboardTM Sense 2 carrying ten environmental sensors and are loaded with code for connecting to the UrsaLeo platform and sending data within a few minutes after setup is complete. Users of the Beta platform can work directly with UrsaLeo engineering to add sensors, port the code to their own hardware, and white label the platform for existing and potential customers.
