Coatesville, PA -- H2O Connected has partnered with Chariot Solutions to create a first to market technology product for commercial property owners. The LeakAlertor is a secure remote monitoring IoT device that alerts owners to toilet leaks in hotels, apartment buildings, office complexes, nursing homes, government buildings, and other large scale facilities.
The LeakAlertor, an encrypted water conservation device that connects wirelessly to a central dashboard, enables management to see problems before needing to enter units. The hybrid hardware/software solution is the result of 20 years of research and development to benefit the buyer, the community and the environment.
There are over 350 million tank toilets in North America and Canada. The LeakAlertor allows facility managers to get a central data feed that shows which toilets are leaking and what to fix without a guessing game that wastes time and money.
“Property managers may think they're losing a couple of gallons a day when in fact, they’re losing up to 7500 gallons a day. We're finding that 20 to 30% of toilets in our customers’ buildings have some sort of leak,” said Susan Springsteen, President and co-founder of the LeakAlertor inventor H2O Connected.
“The H20 Connected LeakAlertor Pro system started detecting all sorts of problems on Day 1. The biggest shock was the number of running toilets, some of which went undetected for days. The wireless reporting let us know how much water each toilet was wasting, and it even reported accurate flush volumes, most of which were not set correctly,” said James Duncan, General Manager, Fairfield by Marriott West Chester/Exton, Pennsylvania. “The instant text messages identified running toilets and overflows, and the daily reports let us know which ones were leaking, and actually told us what problems to fix. The savings for just the running toilets makes this system a no-brainer.”
H2O Connected wanted to partner with someone who had expertise on the IoT side, and that’s why she tapped Chariot Solutions, the software development company that built the LeakAlertor dashboard, firmware and software.
Tracey Welson-Rossman, CMO of Chariot Solutions said, “The LeakAlertor product creates a lot of data to be processed and organized, with a user-friendly interface. The Internet of Things is not just about turning on lights and managing thermostats. H2O Connected’s product falls under the category of IIoT, which is the Industrial Internet of Things. Smart connectivity has many applications beyond what consumers are seeing.”
