AVSystem, a leading vendor of the Internet of Things and device management software since 2006, announced the release of a new version of Anjay LwM2M SDK: Anjay 3.0.
Since the first official Anjay IoT SDK release, AVSystem has been promoting the LwM2M as a default protocol for building and managing IoT applications. Until now, the adoption of LwM2M was significantly slowed down by the lack of freely available LwM2M version 1.1 features. Anjay 3.0 makes a revolutionary change by opening the LwM2M network stack for free usage, regardless of the LwM2M protocol version. By making this crucial decision, AVSystem aims to promote the technology and enable a smooth adoption of LwM2M in a wide range of IoT devices.
Popularization of LwM2M Technology
Anjay 3.0 breaks with the old division into a free and commercial version of Anjay based on the protocol version. Instead, as mentioned above, it offers a full LwM2M stack for free with additional commercial features focused on the integration of the stack with particular hardware vendors. This allows AVSystem to create solution synergy by combining Anjay’s advantages with the best hardware-specific capabilities.
The redefined commercial features available in Anjay 3.0 include Enrollment over Secure Transport (EST), energy-saving data persistence component, and the file system data model feature for fast prototyping, to name a few. All these features aim at facilitating the device development process, effectively reducing the time-to-market for launching new solutions. In addition to the commercial features, AVSystem also launches commercial support packages for their customers.
